You’ve written them down on your list of Resolutions – eat better, lose weight, be more active. Try following these 5 steps – –
- Take a look at what you eat! Use a food journal to look at how you’re doing now. Take 5 minutes a day to note what you ate. After 1 week, you can scan your notes to see what you feel good about and what you want to change.
- Make a simple plan! Set a realistic, short-term goal and write it down. Once you have achieved that goal, set increments to be accomplished over a period of time. Don’t be discouraged if you fail, just pick up where you left off and try again.
- Do it in good taste! Delicious food ideas make any plan easier to maintain. Pick up a new cookbook and just go for it!
- See your progress! Scan your journal. Anytime you have eaten a nutritious meal or snack, put a checkmark beside it. The more expressive you are about your progress, the better you will feel.
- Celebrate your success! Once you have reached each of the small goals, it is time to celebrate! Treat yourself to a little reward, like a fun night out. When you reach your long-term goal, think bigger – – shop for a flattering new outfit, then go out and be noticed!
